Thank you to all families who donateditems for our Halloween Party. The students enjoyed the treats and we hadenough to enjoy treats on Thursday and Friday. I would also like to thank allfamily members who joined us for the party and helped with students gettingdressed and dispersing treats. Without your support, the students would nothave experienced such a wonderful day.

 

Reminders:

Outerwear: Coldweather is here. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for theweather. This includes a hat, winter coat and warm gloves/mittens. It isimportant that all items are labeled with your child’s name to ensure it can bereturned if an item gets misplaced.

Footwear – 2nd pair of shoes/bootsrequired: It is important that your child has a 2ndpair of shoes/boots for outside to help keep our classroom clean of mud andsnow. This keeps our classroom safe for students.

November21            No School for students

November22-26      Thanksgiving Break

In the classroom:

Wemade “slime” last week. We are using the “slime” to practice with letter/numberformation. Ask your child about it.

Phonics:We are continuing to progress with the alphabet and numbers. This week we willbe focusing on the formation and sound of letter Hh, review letterformation/sound of letters A-G. Daily we go through all 26 letters/sounds butthe focus is on one letter per week with goal of mastery of the letter.

Math:We are focusing on #9 this week. We continue to work on number – quantitycorrespondence and we have been learning patterns (AB, ABB, ABC). In addition,we are practicing our counting skills and various tricks with counting(counting by tens).

Overthe next two weeks, I will be testing your child for various concepts forreport cards. Many students have made a great deal of growth and I was able todiscuss your child’s growth at conferences. It is exciting to see how much theyare learning.
